Project and Partnership Description

The Intra-ACP mobility scheme aims at a broad academic and cultural as well as geographically diverse exchange between higher education institutions in African countries, building on the results of the outcomes and recommendations of “Access to Success: Fostering Trust and Exchange between Europe and Africa (2008-2010)”. The overall objective is to promote high-quality education for students and young academics and to increase access to higher education in general.

Our consortium, comprising of eight African Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), chosen based on thorough analysis of their academic strengths and diversity of post graduate studies on offer; one technical partner and three associates, aims at strengthening inter-institutional collaboration to make way for quality higher education collaboration.

The coordinating HEI is the Namibia University of Science and Technology in Windhoek, Namibia’s University of Science and Technology, founded in 1994 by an Act of Parliament (Act No. 33 of 1994). It is dedicated to teaching and research as part of the higher education system in Namibia, granting career-orientated academic qualifications up to PhDs.
